Notion: import and send pages

Pull the Notion pages you choose into Thread, and send documents back on demand.

Thread connects to Notion on demand: you decide what comes in and what goes out. Nothing syncs automatically in the background.

Connect

  1. Sign in to Thread (the connection belongs to your account).
  2. Open Settings → Integrations and press Connect Notion.
  3. In Notion, pick the pages Thread may see and allow access. Thread can only ever read pages you shared with it.

Import from Notion

Press Import from Notion, tick pages, choose a Space and import. Each page becomes a Thread document that remembers where it came from. Importing the same page again updates it — if you also edited it in Thread, your Thread version is saved in Version history first.

Hub pages, subpages and databases

  • Each selected page becomes one Thread document. Its subpages show as 📄 links — they aren’t pulled in unless you tick Also import subpages.
  • With Also import subpages, every subpage (and its subpages) becomes its own document in the same Space, and the 📄 links open them in Thread. Importing again updates them — no duplicates.
  • Want to leave something out (for example an “Archive” subpage)? Don’t tick the option, and select just the pages you want — Notion lists subpages individually too.
  • Databases and linked database views stay in Notion: they appear as one 📊 line or one “linked views” line, never as a pile of rows.

Send to Notion

On any document or note, open ⋯ → Send to Notion…, choose the Notion page to put it under, and send. Later, the same menu updates that Notion page. If someone edited the page in Notion since your last send, Thread won’t overwrite it: choose Update from Notion first or Send as a new page.

What converts

Text, headings, bullet and numbered lists, to-dos, quotes and callouts, code, dividers, links and formatting. Images and files from Notion appear as labelled placeholders; tables become text rows. Nothing is dropped silently, but block-perfect fidelity isn’t promised.

Privacy

  • Items marked Keep on this device only or Never share can never be sent to Notion.
  • Your Notion access token is stored encrypted on Thread’s server and never in your browser.
  • Disconnect in Settings → Integrations. To remove Thread’s access entirely, also remove it in Notion (Settings → Connections).
  • Importing creates content, so it needs full access (trial or subscription); sending to Notion also works in read-only mode.
