Orbit Thread for projects

What did we decide — and why?

Keep a project’s notes, files, calls and decisions in one Space. Write decisions as one-line statements and Thread keeps a current picture of where things stand — with the earlier versions still on record.

  • “Where things stand” for every Space, each line linked to its source
  • Corrections supersede; the earlier decision stays as history
  • Conflicts are flagged for you, never silently resolved

Needs a quick check

Two decisions about [Pricing] disagree. Which one is current?

ConfirmReject

Projects don’t forget. People do.

Three months in, nobody remembers why the launch moved, which price was final, or what the client actually agreed to. The answer is in a call note, a PDF and someone’s memory — usually the last one.

Thread keeps decisions as first-class records with their source and history, so the project can answer for itself.

How it works, step by step.

  1. Step 1

    Capture as the project happens

Meeting notes, contracts, specs, slide decks, a voice debrief on the way home — all into the project’s Space. Nothing needs to be filed or tagged first; search finds it either way.

  2. Step 2

Mark what matters in one line

Start a line with a type and an optional topic: Decision, Goal, Constraint, Instruction, Fact… Thread turns those lines into lasting memory and builds the Space’s “where things stand” from them.

    Memory syntax reference

Decision [Launch]: Soft launch in Berlin on 3 March.

Goal [Q3]: 50 paying teams by summer.

Constraint [Launch]: No launch before the security audit.

Plain notes stay searchable and usable by Ask — typed lines additionally become memory.

  3. Step 3

Change your mind without losing the trail

Write a correction — Decision [Pricing]: No, Starter is €12 — and the old decision becomes Earlier: out of current answers, still there when you ask about history.

If two statements disagree without a correction, Thread puts them under “Needs a quick check” instead of guessing.

    Earlier · 12 Jan

Decision [Pricing]: Starter plan is €9 per month.

    Current · your correction

Decision [Pricing]: No, Starter is €12 per month.

  4. Step 4

Write the plan beside its sources

Documents give you headings, checklists and sticky notes in the margin. Checklist items show up in the Space’s task list, and when a document’s meaning changes — say a decision in it is edited — Thread keeps a snapshot.

Ask Anna about Hamburg after the pilot.

Ask the project, not your memory.

Ask about the current state or about history. Current answers use current decisions; ask “what did we decide first?” and the earlier ones come back. Click the numbers.

Ask · Atlas launch

When are we launching, and what could still block it?

The soft launch is set for 3 March in Berlin. It can’t happen before the security audit is complete, and the audit plan schedules the final report for 24 February.

Example content. Written answers need a local model or your own API key; without AI, Ask assembles an answer from your decisions and matching passages.

Project context that stays under your control.

Everything starts on your device and works offline. Sync between your devices is optional and EU-hosted; a Space can be kept on one device only, and items marked “Don’t use with AI” are never sent to a model.

Practical questions.

Do I have to use the typed syntax?

No. Plain notes and files are fully searchable and can be used by Ask. Typed lines like “Decision [Topic]: …” additionally become lasting memory with history, and feed “where things stand”.

Can my team work in the same Space?

Not yet. Thread Team, with shared Spaces and roles, is coming soon. Today Thread is for individuals — you can join the Team waitlist on the pricing section.

What happens to an old decision?

When you write a correction, the earlier decision is marked Earlier. It is excluded from answers about how things are now and still used when you ask about the past.

Does Thread decide which statement is right?

Only when you make it explicit with a correction. If two statements conflict without one, Thread flags both under “Needs a quick check” and lets you confirm or reject.
