Welcome to Orbit Thread

Orbit Thread is a local-first knowledge workspace: put notes, links, files and voice notes in one place, find them again, and ask questions using retrieved material with sources you can inspect.

Your first five minutes

1. Try Thread without an account. When you want it on your other devices, press Save this Thread (after a search, or in Settings → Account). Confirm the email code — sync turns on and your 30-day trial starts. Notes already on this device are kept.
2. Type anything into the big box on Home and press Enter. You’ll see Saved. right away.
3. Drop a PDF or image onto the box, or paste a link.
4. Write a decision like Decision [Launch]: We ship on 3 March. — Thread remembers it as a decision about “Launch”.
5. Press / and search for a word from your note.
6. Open Ask, ask “When do we launch?” and tap Why? to see exactly which notes were used.

Thread Team and shared Spaces are coming soon. Using Claude or Codex? Connect them to Thread.

Looking for Settings? Use Settings (gear) and Account in the top-right of the app header. On the very first screen, choose Skip — look around first to reach them before your first note.

What Thread is not

Thread retrieves evidence, shows sources and checks model claims against that evidence. Unsupported statements can be omitted or flagged, but important answers still need your review. Model processing is optional and off until you choose a local model or your own API key.
